Battle Ground Weekly Highlights
GREAT DAY at the market at Battle Ground Village, Thursday, August 16!
We’ll be welcoming SeaMar Clinic and its last day at the farmers market at Battle Ground Village, distributing FMNP checks to eligible WIC clients. And we’re sorry to see the final day of WSU Extension Service’s Healthy Families, who help to teach us all some healthful, tasty recipes with market-basket produce. Both SeaMar Clinic and WSU Extension are outstanding partners of the Clark County farmers’ markets and contribute to providing assistance to those who may be under-resourced. FMNP checks can only be used at a farmers market for the purchase of produce.
The WIC FMNP check distribution starts at 3 p.m. at Battle Ground Village.
Beautiful produce is now in season – from Mason Farm, Landslide Farm, Coyote Ridge Ranch, Kroeker Farm, Woodland’s Best LLC, Jacki’s Heirloom Garden and Munoz Berry Farm. Colorful, tasty, nutritious and locally-grown, this produce is picked within the last 24 hours and is a steal price-wise.
Welcome NEW VENDORS –
J&J Flowers, with birdhouses and bouquets!
Hometown Sew, bringing handsewn quilts and clothing.
Deborah Berreth, with handmade/crafted, unique greeting cards
Salmon River Smokehouse, bringing SMOKED SALMON!
Have you sampled freshly poured, raw, pure honey? Sithean Acres will indulge you! Don’t fall for the “bought in the store” trick with honey…..that’s not freshly poured, raw or pure. Find out more from the Bishops at Sithean Acres.
This market accepts EBT cards and matches up to $5 of an EBT transaction with Fresh Match tokens…..to use for buying produce from any of our produce vendors. We also offer Produce Pals, valued at $2 a token, for kids to purchase their very own produce. We are a farm and food market, advocating for sustaining local food-producing farms and farm businesses in SW Washington. We are an approved WIC & Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program check in the State of Washington with 4 approved farm vendors ready to accept WIC and Senior checks.
